We are so pleased to showcase this French wax which has been used for generations to seal
royal documents and correspondence.

La Societe J. Herbin, Maitre Cirier a Paris, was established in 1670.

Generations of remarkable people, from Louis XIV to Coco Chanel, have used this traditional sealing wax,
and it is well known around the world as one of the highest quality sealing waxes ever made.

M. Herbin was a sailor, and from his many journeys to India he brought back to Paris formulas for manufacturing sealing wax.
His special lacquer formula improved the quality of the seals in adhesion and neatness, helping him to become famous throughout the kingdom.

Then as today, sealing wax was used for documents and correspondence, but also in decoration and bottling.
J. Herbin has supplied Chanel from its beginning with wax used for finishing touches on their perfume bottles.

We love Harry Potter, and all the magic and delight these stories by J.K. Rowling have brought to the world. Visiting the creations of someone's imagination is always a special delight.

Many share in the imagination of Ms. Rowling by creating their own fan based versions of wax seals for Harry Potter gifts, parties, role playing and more.

Please note that it would infringe on the intellectual properties of J.K. Rowling for one to create a product offering the images of her Hogwarts School Crest; Griffendor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw & Slytherin crests are copy write as well. Hence, we would not create seals with these images.

Instead, look for existing products which fit into the world of Harry Potter.
Owls, crests, coat of arms, paws, etc. are seals which have been around for years.
Think also of the available wax colors which can easily be selected in homage to the houses of Hogwarts.

Hogwarts = H / Red, Green, Yellow, and Blue
Griffendor = Lion / Red & Gold
Hufflepuff = Badger / Yellow & Black
Ravenclaw = Eagle / Blue & Bronze (if bronze is too dark, select copper)
Slytherin = Snake / Green & Silver

Many items could be used to emboss wax - the wonderful impression was used with a chinese chop (akin to a stone carving or rubber stamp). The ink used on the chop transferred to the wax.

We were shown this beautiful image of use of seal with ribbon.
The seal looks like the coin was lighting dipped in gold highlighting ink prior to emobossing the hot wax.

Brown Paper Packages tied up with string.......

These are a few of my favorite things!

Rather than bows which get squished, don't stick, or just aren't your taste, try adding a bit of tradition and style to your gift by applying hot wax over the package strings/ribbon and sealing. For added richness and sparkle, use gilding paste or highlighting ink.
This package uses Antique Gold gilding paste

Shortbread Snowflakes & Reindeer .... and more

This recipe for shortbread is one that allows one to press the dough through a trigger cookie press for quick hands off production.
One could easily use a tradtional shortbread recipe and roll the dough into small balls by hand to press a seal image into.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup butter

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup confectioners' sugar

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup cornstarch

Metric Conversion:

225 g butter

190 g all-purpose flour

60 g confectioners' sugar

1 ml vanilla extract

65 g cornstarch

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a medium mixing bowl, cream together butter, confectioners' sugar, and vanilla until smooth with electric mixer. Stir in flour and cornstarch. Pop dough into your cookie press, and away you go! Press cookies out onto ungreased cookie sheets.
To create cookies to press with a seal to create a design, use a single dot cookie press die, or a decorating tip to create a 1/2" diameter ball. Press cleaned/cooled seal into center of dough ball and lift straight up. If seal coin sticks to dough, cool coin or spray/wipe with non stick spray or butter.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until raised areas are golden.

Holiday themes such as snowflakes, reindeer & trees

Create a monogram seal for a gift, then bake a batch of cookies embossed with their monogram to complete the gift......
